How To Store
Your Dog's Food
As a Pet Parent, finding the perfect food for your furry friend is important. But getting it into your home is only half the challenge – you also need to know how to store it. After all, even the best food in the world will go bad if it's not stored properly. Here are a few tips on how to store dry and wet dog food.

Before opening your dog food
A good rule is to keep both dry and unopened wet dog food in a dark and moisture-free place, like a pantry or kitchen cupboard. Store the food at room temperature. It's not a good idea to keep wet or dry dog food in your garage, where the humidity and temperatures can often fluctuate. Similarly, under the sink is a ricky spot because the food has a higher chance of getting wet.

How to Store Dry Dog Food
We always advise keeping dog food in its original packaging. Our bags are specifically developed to keep dry food fresh for longer, without compromising the nutritional value. Our dry dog food is good for 24 months as long as it's unopened, and 3 months if it's open.
Correct storage is essential to prevent the vitamins from degrading and to avoid any oxidation of fats – which would spoil dry food quicker.
Bonus tip: if you keep our food in its original packaging, you'll also be able to look back at the handy feeding guidelines and the expiration date.
It's in your pet's best interest to reseal their dry food and treat bags after every use. You can easily roll up our bags or close them with a clip.
How to Store Wet Dog Food
A closed tin of wet dog food will last for 36 months. An opened tin is best stored in the fridge, where it will stay delicious for two or three days. Always remember to cover the food so it doesn't dry out!
We also suggest leaving refrigerated dog food out for a while to warm up before giving it to your pet. It's a great idea to make a note about when you opened a tin to help keep an eye on freshness. And a final word of advice: don't leave wet food in your pet's bowl for too long. Food that's left out will spoil quickly and might even attract some unwelcome guests like ants.

The right packaging
We love our tins because they keep food fresh for longer than you'd probably expect. All our wet food packaging is made from metal, the world's most recycled material. Thanks to metal's natural preservative properties, our food stays full of nutritional goodness for 24 months – which also helps reduce food waste.
Your pet will be so grateful to you for taking care of their Edgard & Cooper goodies. And you'll also be helping our planet.
